EMILIA KAROLINA SITARZ
Pianist, artistic director of the Kwadrofonik festival and the series HEARTS - Concerts to Explore, educator. Originator of the educational program for children with disabilities and on the autism spectrum, winner of the most important Polish cultural awards such as Koryfeusz, Paszport Polityki, Fryderyk, Złota Płyta, Folkowy Fonogram Roku.

With flutist Ewa Liebchen, she forms a duo performing contemporary music. In 2024, they jointly received a grant from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in the category "Promotion of Polish Culture Abroad."

She lectures on piano duet and issues related to the performance of new music. She is also the author of a series of educational concerts for children and young people addressing issues of contemporary music. In 2019 she was awarded a scholarship from the City of Warsaw in the field of dissemination of culture. In 2020, a series of online programs presenting works for piano duet entitled: "Turn on the duet" was published, of which she is the originator.
As part of her work with children with disabilities and on the autism spectrum, she prepared and conducted:
Music workshops "Draw the sound", "Music on a fork", "Halo halo here Muranów". - nomination for the Sunflower Award, Workshops on sound making and sound directing for young people on the autism spectrum for the Mary and Max Social Innovation Association, Workshops popularizing music for young people as part of the "Crazy Days of Music" Festival - for young people with disabilities from ZSS No. 89 in Warsaw
In addition, Emilia Sitarz participated several times in sensory concerts for the Polin Museum.
In 2019-2022, together with the Theater Academy, she implemented the socio-cultural project ITAKA working against the exclusion of the elderly from the sphere of art.

This year, she will implement a grant awarded by the Mayor of the City of Warsaw - a program for children and young people with coupled disabilities - NANODŹWIĘKI.

She graduated from the University of Music F. Chopin in Warsaw, and is also a graduate of the postgraduate master's program at the Hochschule fur Musik in Rostock, graduating with honors in the class of the duo Hans - Peter and Volker Stenzl. She also received her education for many years in the class of the duo Bracha Eden - Alexander Tamir (Israel).
Since 1999, she has formed the Lutoslawski Piano Duo ensemble, and since 2005, the Kwadrofonik quartet.

In his authorial musical projects, together with his bands, he often collaborates with pop, jazz and folk music personalities (e.g.: D. Miśkiewicz, A. Rojek, M.Koteluk, A. Strug) He also collaborates with the outstanding flutist Ewa Liebchen.

Since 2011, she has been active in the Kwadrofonik Association, with which she has been carrying out a number of projects in Poland and abroad, including the Kwadrofonik Festival, Listens-Concerts to Sightseeing, Pianokrąg, Free Concert, Kwadrofonik- abroad of sound.

She has given concerts in most European countries, North and South America, the Middle East and Japan, performing in such halls as: National Philharmonic, Izumi Hall, Carnegie Hall, Berlin Philharmonic, Gulbenkian Auditorio, W. Lutoslawski Studio, Chicago Symphony Center, NOSPR, NFM, Beijing Music Hall, J.F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

He is a guest of such festivals as:
Polish Radio Festival, Kwartesencja, Warsaw Autumn, "Chain", UNSOUND, Festival of First Performances, Musica Polonica Nova, Polish Piano Festival, Vratislavia Cantans, Krakow Piano Festival, Music on the Peaks, Two Moors Festival (UK), Londrina Festival (Brazil), Scelsi Festival (Italy), Music Festival in Łańcut, Klang, Malta, Spring Festival (Israel), Ein Kerem Music Centre Season (Israel). He is a regular guest at piano duo festivals, including those in Moldova, Lithuania and Belarus, and also gives concerts at the invitation of Polish Embassies and Institutes abroad.

She attaches great importance to new music and to cooperation with composers. She has premiered dozens of works, including Concertos for Two Pianos, composed especially for her ensembles and including: DIFFERENCE, W. Z. Zych's SYMPHONY III - for flageolet piano and orchestra, CONCERT FOR TWO FORTEPIANS, by M. Małecki, DFRGMNTD, SEPTEMBER by W. Blecharz, FUORI - Concerto for Two Pianos, MOEBIUS's WSTĘGA by M. Jabłoński, chamber works by M. Laskowski, K. Szwed, J. Stanley, W. Z. Zych, W. Blecharz, A.Zagajewski.

Current prepares works by foreign composers such as Peter Ablinger, Niels Ronsholdt, Georgy Kurtag.

In their work with their ensembles, they combine the traditions of classical music, performance of recent music and multi-source inspiration from, among others, Polish traditional music and electronic music. Together they also promote rarely performed works, including Steve Reich's "Music for eighteen musicians" and "Daniel Variations," Angelo Badalamenti's "Industrial Symphony," and F. Liszt's Wanderer - Fantasie for two pianos and orchestra (with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra).
